Biography:

I am a board certified psychiatrist and psychotherapist offering medication management, individual therapy, or both.

One of my particular areas of expertise is treating women who are trying to conceive, pregnant or postpartum, as I strongly believe that helping mothers at this vulnerable and critical time is essential not only for the mother’s well-being, but also for that of her child and the whole family system.

Individual Therapy

As a psychotherapist, I have a warm, collaborative style that integrates various psychotherapeutic modalities, including cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic, supportive, interpersonal, existential, dialectical-behavioral and mindfulness approaches.  Drawing from these perspectives, I individualize my approach to meet your particular needs.

Medication Management

As a psychopharmacologist, I am diligent about keeping up with the latest psychiatric literature to ensure any prospective interventions have a strong evidence base.

While I believe that psychiatric medications are often a very helpful tool to relieve suffering, I am also committed to the judicious use of them, and believe that they should be prescribed as much as necessary, but also as little as possible.

I take care to ensure that you have a good understanding of the potential benefits and risks to each medication, and will support you in making the best decision for your overall physical and mental health.

Consultations

In addition to providing ongoing care, I offer psychiatric consultations for individuals who are principally obtaining their treatment from primary care providers.

I also provide psychiatric consultations for individuals under the care of other therapists and psychiatrists to assist with clarifying diagnoses and determining optimal treatment plans.

Mission

To advance the quality and effectiveness of psychiatric care through advocacy, professional education and camaraderie.
