William Wolfe is a psychiatrist and Clinical Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at UCSF. He has served as Medical Director of the Posttraumatic Stress Disorder Clinical Team at the San Francisco VA since 2008, where he is involved in running the clinic, caring for patients, and directing the PTSD curriculum for residents. His research focuses on the impact of PTSD psychotherapy in the VA system and he is site investigator for a large multi-center VA trial evaluating pharmacotherapy for insomnia in veterans with military-related PTSD. He has a private psychotherapy practice and provides consultation in legal matters related to PTSD. He was recently trained as a study therapist in MDMA Psychotherapy for PTSD by the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS) and has completed his first case as a study therapist in the MAPS clinical trials.
