Dr. Amanda Downey is an assistant professor of pediatrics and psychiatry at the University of California, San Francisco who provides integrated care for adolescents and young adults with eating disorders. She is the assistant medical director of the UCSF Eating Disorders Program. Through education, advocacy and research, she strives to dismantle the systems that increase risk for eating disorders and improve evidence-based eating disorder treatments. Her current research examines disparities in access to treatment for underrepresented young people with eating disorders and psychedelic psychotherapy for the treatment of anorexia nervosa.
