Anna Madrigal

Anna Madrigal is a third year psychiatry resident at San Mateo County Behavioral Health and Recovery Services. Anna was born and raised in Chicago, in a Mexican American and bilingual household. She attended the University of Illinois at Chicago for college, where she completed degrees in Psychology and Spanish. After college, Anna completed a Master's degree in Elementary Education and taught fifth grade for two years in inner city Chicago. Her experiences as a teacher inspired her to pursue a career in child psychiatry. Ultimately, she attended Keck School of Medicine at USC and graduated in May 2020. Throughout her psychiatric residency, her passion for underserved communities has grown and she has been actively involved in a health equities working group. Additionally, Anna have a particular interest in trauma in the Latinx community and trauma informed care.
