NCPS wrapped up the year with a memorable Holiday Party on December 6, 2025, at Mavericks House in Half Moon Bay. This was our first time hosting an event at the venue, and it exceeded expectations. Nestled along the coast, the simple and beautiful setting offered sweeping views of the bay and surrounding coastline—creating an effortless, relaxed atmosphere from the moment guests arrived.

Members gathered over food and drinks, spending much of the afternoon and evening on the outdoor deck enjoying the sunshine, ocean air, and one another’s company. The outdoor s’mores station quickly became a favorite, adding a festive touch to an already warm and welcoming event.

While the Holiday Party is primarily about bringing members together rather than formal programming, the evening included a few meaningful moments of recognition. Dr. Alex Threlfall was presented with the Meritorious Service award, and Dr. Hu offered a brief and heartfelt tribute honoring Dr. Nolan Williams, a respected and well-known member of the NCPS community who recently passed away.

The evening also featured a special guest, Assemblymember Marc Berman was also honored with the Geri Taylor Memorial Award. Assemblymember Berman is a longtime advocate for mental health in Sacramento who is currently working to help restore a Physician Wellness Program in California. Though he planned only a short visit, Assemblymember Berman stayed for an extended time, engaging in thoughtful conversations with members. We are grateful to Assemblymember Berman and his field representative, Ruby Mayne, for taking the time to join us.

As the sun began to set, Dr. Hu invited everyone to pause and take in the moment. Members gathered once more on the deck to watch the sunset together—bringing the evening to a close in a way that felt both reflective and deeply connected.
