Buprenorphine Prescriber Training

Registration is closed for this event
This 8-hour live course covers background information on opioid use disorder (OUD), treatments and medication options. It is designed for licensed physicians who seek to obtain a waiver to prescribe buprenorphine in office-based treatment of opioid use disorders. The course will offer 8 hours of CME and completion of the CME survey will help you initiate paperwork to obtain a waiver from SAMHSA to prescribe buprenorphine.

The Drug Abuse Treatment Act of 2000 (DATA 2000) specifies training is necessary for
physicians to obtain a waiver to engage in office-based treatment of opioid use disorders
using drugs approved by the FDA on Schedules III, IV, and V. This course addresses
those requirements using a curriculum approved by SAMHSA and APA; APA is one of
the national organizations named in the DATA 2000 legislation as eligible to prepare and
administer these courses.
