Goldwater Deconstructed
This webinar will address the history of mental health, public figures and the media, starting with George Washington and Abraham Lincoln. The discussion will examine the developmental history of Barry Goldwater, the situations that led to the Fact magazine scandal, the litigation that followed, the Goldwater Rule and what AMA, FSMB, and the expectations about professional conduct in the media that other mental health professional organizations have set forth. The lecture ends with how mental health professionals should interface with the media.
